On Youtube comments section poetry doo dah

I've posted this video (and discussed the notorius author of this cover at length) before, cause it's one of my favorite covers ever, a simply iconic version of one of my favorite songs ever. This is truly one of those versions which tips its hat to the original and at the same time exposes a resplendent bald head that SHINES OUT and blinds everyone.

And tonight, to make the song - and the whole experience really (cause that's what the best comments do, they complement the experience, they're like a really insightful or funny remark a friend makes when walking out of the movie theatre) - even more incredible and heartwrenchingly good, one comment below this video caught my eye and almost brought a big, cinematic late night crocodile tear to it.

"i awoke on the lawn in total disorientation. looking to my left, i saw a guitar. plenty of people partying around me, they'd long since forgotten about me. i played this song and they all sang along. a high light in being a low life."

For a long time I've been meaning to collect some of these manifestations of genius and wit, of comedic or rhetorical talent, that I sometimes stumble across while wading through the sad muck of Youtube comments. Despite all the xeroxed reheated dumb mass jokes no one seems to have come up with and everyone keeps repeating, despite all the personal attacks and mud-slinging, despite all the inane religious debates no one ever learns from or comes out a winner, despite all the likes and dislikes and the unoriginal observations made of them, despite all the racist misogynistic homophobic stuff, despite all the sad confused hysteric conspiracy theories, despite all the desperate click-me's, despite all the dead robotic spam comments feigning actual human expression... I still scroll down. To find gems like that one.

Doo-dah.
